Emmerdale viewers were left reaching for the tissues as tragedy struck with the death of Amy Wyatt (portrayed by Natalie Jamieson). The shocking scenes, which aired on Thursday and can be seen on ITVX, showed Amy disclose the identity of the person trapped under the ice just before she tragically succumbed to cardiac arrest.
Amy confided in Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), gasping for breath, "Matty, Nate is in the water." Unheard by Matty who tried to comfort her saying, "I know you were, darling, but you are safe now," Amy attempted once more, "Nate is in the water," before tenderly admitting: "I love you." The drama escalated when Amy suddenly stopped breathing and entered cardiac arrest.
Despite doctors' efforts, Amy died, shattering Matty's world, reports Leeds Live. Meanwhile, as the episode concluded, Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) arrived at the crash site, where rescue teams pulled another body from the lake.
Confronted by the police, an anguished Tracy, involved in the accident herself, explained: "We were in the crash. My sister's girlfriend, Suzy, went down in that limo." Vanessa, overcome with emotion, insisted: "She's still down there, I can't leave her," while Tracy pressed for answers: "We need to know, have you found her?" The officer reported they were still searching, mentioning, "Not yet, but we have divers in the water." Amidst their grief, it dawns on some that the body might belong to Nate following Amy's desperate revelation.
