Sir Elton John's husband David Furnish has given a health update on the superstar after he was "unable to walk" down the red carpet during his own event. The couple attended the 32nd Elton John AIDS Foundation's 32nd Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party, not long after the Rocketman singer had a knee replacement in January.

Elton, 76, is due to have another operation on his knee next month but his husband David, 61, said he could be "breakdancing" in no time.

Providing the health update, David told The Sun: "He’s doing amazing. He’s having another knee done in a couple of weeks and by the time the summer rolls around, he’ll have two brand new spanking knees. "I think you’ll see him breakdancing down the carpet next year." The doting husband went on to tease that Elton, who retired from touring last summer, could be heading on stage again.

David said while Elton won't "try to top Glastonbury" he doesn't think he'll "stop performing completely." Adding: "I think he’s going to take advantage of the opportunity to do little shows now and again but he’s not going to tour anymore.
