Elton John and Olly Alexander's triumphant celebration of LGBTQ identity at BRIT Awards

It's been a phenomenal year for LGBTQ representation in the mainstream media, and Olly Alexander and Elton John’s seismic performance at The BRITs has once again put the LGBTQ agenda front and centre.

The duo performed Pet Shop Boys track It’s A Sin as a reference to this year's Russell T Davies televisual hit of the same name.

It's A Sin, the TV show, was about the lives of a group of young gay men affected by the AIDS pandemic, and starred Olly in the lead role.

But back on stage at The BRITs, Olly and Elton's commanding performance of the original song was hella dramatic, as well as joyously defiant.
