The 44-year-old Coldplay frontman attended the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday night (May 27) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to help present the 74-year-old entertainer with the Icon Award.
As he took to the mic, Chris joked that he got into a fist fight with the guy that runs the teleprompter, so everything he says might not be 100% accurate. “I hope to goodness that he hasn’t messed with what I am about to say because I don’t really now anything about Elton John and I’m just going to read what iHeart wrote for me,” Chris started. “Elton John was born in the USA.
