We don't need much of an excuse to talk about pizza here in Manchester. We have a truly world-class crop of restaurants, window hatches and back alleys spots serving up the very best.
We're lucky that all manner of pizza styles are cooked up across the region. If you want a Neapolitan-style slice cooked in less than 90 seconds like it would be on a backstreet in Naples then we have those establishments in abundance, but we're also masters of the New York vibes, as well as Detroit-style and Chicago deep dish.
As it's National Pizza Week, we thought it was worth taking a closer look at some of those that are excelling in the field. While the list is not exhaustive, it covers a range of pizza styles and gives you something to bookmark should you have a hankering this week or in the not-so-distant future. With a huge wood-fired Stefano Ferarra Forni pizza, the smell of freshly prepared pizza hits you the moment you step foot over the threshold, while the pizzas themselves, stretched by hand, and topped with authentic Italian ingredients and cooked for less than 90 seconds, are sublime.
