Eccles Metrolink line suspended in second bout of disruption for tram passengers

The Eccles Metrolink line has been suspended this evening in a second bout of disruption for tram passengers. All services on the Eccles and MediaCity line had been halted due to a fault with an overhead power line meaning no services are running between Eccles and Manchester city centre.

In a tweet, Metrolink said this would last until "further notice." Tickets are currently being accepted on the number 33, 50, 53 and 70 bus services.

As a knock-on effect there are also severe delays on the Ashton line with tickets being accepted on the 216 and 217 bus services between Ashton-under-Lyne and the city centre.
