Eaton Canyon Fire Breaks Out Near Pasadena; Mandatory Evacuations As Wind-Whipped Flames Spread

A new wildfire broke out in Eaton Canyon, near Pasadena, with local authorities forcing evacuations as a windstorm hits Southern California.

Angeles National Fores reports that over 200 acres have burned, and it’s spreading rapidly. Areas ordered to evacuate immediately include Foxridge, Canyon Close, Grand Oak, East of Altadena Dr., Kinneloa Canyon Rd, Outpost Lane, Glen Springs, Coolidge, Miranda, Roosevelt, Veranda, and Kenclare.

This latest fire comes after a massive wildfire in the Pacific Palisades displaced 30,000 residents as fires burned over 2,900 acres, threatening over 10,000 homes.

The “life-threatening and destructive” windstorm is expected to reach peak winds on Tuesday night at 10 p.m. PT and continue through Wednesday morning.
