The 19-year-old star, who plays Tiffany Butcher in Albert Square, pulled on to wasteland to puff away on a “strong smelling” rolled-up cigarette while behind the wheel.
But after finishing, she quickly drove off as a police car pulled into the area — a former waste tip. Driving under the influence of cannabis can result in a minimum one-year driving ban, an unlimited fine and up to six months in prison.
Exclusive photographs show Maisie, who joined the BBC soap in 2008 as a child star, smoking while chatting to a female pal. An eyewitness said a strong smell seeped from the open window as the pair spent 40 minutes.
