EastEnders actress June Brown who has died at the age of 95 years old.Her death was announced by her family, who it is reported that the actress spent the final months of her life with, following her departure from EastEnders as Albert Square resident Dot Cotton in 2020.June Brown was one of the soap's longest reigning cast members, after starting out her career at the Old Vic Theatre School in the late forties, where she met her first husband.Her acting career would also bring her into contact with her second husband, later in life.However before she became an EastEnders icon, June's life started with heartbreaking losses in her childhood, including the deaths of two of her siblings.Dot Cotton star June Brown was born on February 16, 1927 in Suffolk to her parents Louisa and Henry Brown.She was one of five children and lived with her family in the village of Needham Market, but sadly in her early years, June suffered two heartbreaking losses.In 1932 when the actress was five years old, her younger brother Peter was born, but sadly died 15 days later after been diagnosed with pneumonia.Two years later, June also suffered another loss when her elder sister Marise died in 1934 at the age of eight from a disease similar to meningitis.
Speaking about her loss to Daily Mail, June reflected on how she had never found anyone similar to the role model she had in her elder sister, saying: "I’ve never felt such loneliness.
Her death was the defining moment of my life. "Micie was the only person to know the real me. The result was that I’ve spent my life looking for a companion who could show me the same sort of love.
