Eamonn Holmes has waded into the rumoured feud between his former This Morning co-stars Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

On his GB News show, Eamonn argued that Phil and Holly's partnership had become a "broken fit" following the pair's alleged falling out.

Making reference to Sunday night's TV BAFTAs, he quipped: "I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors. "They may or may not be together on the telly today. The public surely will suss that there's no chemistry, that it's a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it." He continued: "It's an institution, it will carry on no matter who presents it and anyone can check the viewing figures, there's no difference between whether they present it or anyone else." Eamonn used to be one of the presenters of the popular morning show alongside his wife Ruth Langsford, until a shakeup in January 2021 which saw current presenter Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary take over their Friday hosting spot. The show has since been hit with rumours of a falling out between hosts Phil and Holly, with reports emerging that they formerly close pals are now "barely speaking" off-camera.

Phil addressed the matter directly in a public statement that is said to have "blindsided" best pal Holly, where he called the mum-of-three his "rock".
