Reflecting on the heartbreaking incident involving Jay Slater, Eamonn recalled: "I remember, my eldest lad wanted to go off on holiday."The TV personality vividly remembered the teenage drinking culture, lamenting: "The thing they were all doing at 18 at school was firing shots [of alcohol].

They would all take these shots and [it was all about], 'How many shots, can you take?' But they could actually kill you! I took him aside and I said, son this could kill you doing this."Now aged 35, Declan is Eamonn's firstborn from his previous marriage to Gabriella.
