Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford took to our screens for their final Friday slot on This Morning to wish viewers a goodbye. The married couple were reportedly furious to learn they were being axed from the hit ITV show, and replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

When the news broke, former Big Brother star Alison was hit with the wrath of mean comments from trolls, which resulted in the television channel having to step in to hold ‘duty of care’ meetings.
