DWP confirms face-to-face assessment start dates for PIP, Universal Credit and other benefits

Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed face-to-face assessments for some Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Employment Support Allowance (ESA) and Universal Credit claimants will resume next month.

In line with the latest public health guidance and adhering to strict safety protocols, the DWP plans to begin reintroducing face-to-face assessments for health and disability benefits in May.

Announcing the update in the latest issue of Touchbase, the DWP said: "People will be invited for their appointments by letter, which will clearly set out what to expect at their appointment.
