Dumfries and Galloway’s curlers begin their bid to retain their world title this weekend. Kirkgunzeon’s Grant Hardie and Stranraer duo Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan Jnr, as well as skip Bruce Mouat, are representing Scotland in the World Men’s Curling Championship in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

They won the trophy last year with a fine 9-3 victory over Canada in the final. The action starts on Sunday with games against Korea and America.
