Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.Drug and alcohol related hospital admissions in Renfrewshire have reached a record high.In the past two years, the number of pepople attending hospital due to issues with addiction has soared to an “unacceptably high” level.Grim figures, published in a report by Renfrewshire’s Alcohol and Drugs Commission, show drug-related admissions have jumped to a rate of 210.38 per 100,000 population within a two-year period from 2016/17 to 2018/19.Alcohol related hospital admissions have also spiked above the national average in Renfrewshire, with 807.71 per 100,000 recorded in Renfrewshire in 2018/19, compared with a rate of 669.13 for Scotland.Experts now fear.
