Drivers who continue to use their vehicles to make non-essential journeys could soon find their car insurance is no longer valid.

Motorists who go against Government guidelines during the coronavirus lockdown period could be voiding their policy, a motoring lawyer has warned.

Despite the widespread travel restrictions currently in place, the latest data suggests traffic is on the up, as people start using their vehicles on the road again.

However, using it to visit friends, family or to make more than one essential journey a day could mean you're in breach of your car insurance policy.
