Idrissa Akuna Elba OBE (born 6 September 1972) is an English actor, writer, producer, rapper, singer, songwriter and DJ. He is known for roles including Stringer Bell in the HBO series The Wire, DCI John Luther in the BBC One series Luther, and Nelson Mandela in the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013). The rapper confirmed the news after realising he was at risk, when his friend (and basketball player) Kevin Durant revealed had the condition. ‘Yeah, I had to do a test, but it came back negative, though,’ the In My Feelings star revealed in a video he recorded on Instagram with his dad.
He gave us a rare insight into what the test itself is like. ‘That test is uncomfortable though,’ he continued. ‘They put that Q-tip all the way up inside your thoughts and s**t.’ The 33-year-old and Kevin hung out recently – with Drake posting a photo of their night out.
