Dog walker slams 'irresponsible' pet owners after pug is attacked in Heaton Park

A dog walker has hit out at 'completely irresponsible' pet owners after she says her pug could have "lost an eye" in an attack in Heaton Park.Micheala Jenkins and her boyfriend had been out walking with her three dogs Winnie on Tuesday afternoon when they were approached by a couple with a border collie.Shortly after spotting the other walkers, Micheala's pug Winnie approached their dog, which was on a lead at the time.She says the couple never stopped to tell her that their dog was unfriendly but that it suddenly lashed out, biting Winnie on the face and then shaking her around.The pug was left with puncture wounds around her eyes and has had to have bandages put around her face.Micheala has spoken out about the incident and her concern.
