A dog trainer has warned against owning three dog breeds, with one in particular that he has advised never having as a pet. Despite there being 223 purebred breeds in the UK, Will Atherton is against owning the Caucasian Shepherd at all - especially when young children are involved, the Express reports. He said: "The Caucasian Shepherd [is] absolutely beautiful, regal [and] powerful.

But [the dog breed] belongs out in the wilderness, protecting flocks from extreme predators, like bears and wolves."Will added: "They very rarely make good pets, and that is not the kind of energy that I would bring into my family with young children."Surprisingly, Will also advised against owning Cocker Spaniels or Springer Spaniels.

He explained: "I absolutely love watching them work out in the field when I'm with my Labrador, or out hunting. However, bringing that energy into the home is not a good fit for me because I want a dog that can settle down and switch off."Pointing his camera towards his own pet Labrador on TikTok, who just happened to be lounging on the sofa, Will implied that it's unlikely he would see that from a Cocker or Springer Spaniel. He also mentioned that he wouldn't own a Siberian Husky again as he told his followers: "I've had one before.

Never again." Join the Daily Record's WhatsApp community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages. His comments on social media have sparked disagreement among users. One pet owner replied: "I have had eight Springer Spaniels over the years and just couldn't disagree more!
