Dave McNary Film ReporterNeill Blomkamp shot an entire movie during the coronavirus pandemic.The “District 9” and “Elysium” director made a supernatural horror movie over the summer in Canada’s British Columbia. Blomkamp also wrote the script for the movie, which has a cast consisting mostly of Canadian actors.The film, Blomkamp’s first since the 2015 sci-fier “Chappie,” is backed by Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios.Plot details are being kept under wraps.

It’s been a half-decade since the release of Neill Blomkamp’s most recent feature film, “Chappie.” Since then, he’s been a busy filmmaker, working on short films with his production company and developing a number of projects, including his planned “RoboCop” sequel that he eventually departed. However, before the pandemic struck, the filmmaker had the intention to begin production on “Inferno” with Taylor Kitsch aboard as star.
