Disney+ streaming platform has added a content warning at the beginning of 18 episodes of The Muppet Show. The disclaimer states: “This programme includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures.
These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. “Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together. ” Disney+ started streaming The Muppet Show on Friday.
A warning has been added to each of the programmes for different reasons and include those guest-hosted by Steve Martin, Peter Sellers, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Debbie Harry and Marty Feldman, among others.
