The devastated aunt of a young woman believed to have been murdered by her stepdad just 20 minutes after he also killed his ex-wife has branded the killer an "animal".

Steven Robertson, 40, stabbed NHS worker ex Emma Coupland and step daughter Nicole Anderson to death before he died in a car crash as he tried to flee.

Emma, a mum of four daughters, was fatally attacked outside Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock as she arrived for her work as a cleaner at 7.45pm on Thursday, while delivery driver Nicole was knifed 20 minutes later outside a takeaway in central Kilmarnock.

Robertson, who posted a chilling message on Facebook just hours before carrying out the murders, has been labelled "controlling" by Nicole's shattered auntie, Stacey Newman.
