Bungie is already teasing the future of Destiny 2 after releasing The Final Shape expansion.Final Shape launched earlier this month and brought an end to 10 years of stories and adventures.
However, Bungie is already teasing fans with what comes next.In a new video, titled The Journey Ahead, developers gave fans a better look at episodes, which are due to replace seasons.
Typically, four seasons were released every year but these “larger, content-packed” episodes will be split into three, six-week-long acts. These episodes will include standalone stories but will also “build up mysteries for the future of Destiny 2,” according to creative lead Jason Reynolds.
The first of these episodes will introduce objects of “immense power” called echoes. These items are a direct result of the battle with The Witness, which featured in The Final Shape expansion.Bungie also gave a quick glimpse at follow-up “dark-fantasy” episode Revenant, which is Fallen-themed and introduces a new potion-crafting system, and Hersey, which will take players back to the Dreadnaught.
