Denise Van Outen has revealed she was surprised when Channel 4 bosses wanted her ex Eddie to be her TV-watching partner on Celebrity Gogglebox.The stunning TV star, 47, said she had originally thought she'd star alongside one of her "famous friends" on the hit telly-watching show.However, she was taken aback to find out show bosses were keen on her ex Eddie joining her on the showbiz sofa - after they'd seen the pair do an interview together and thought they were "hilarious".The cabaret queen dished on her entry onto Celebrity Gogglebox with Eddie in her bare-all autobiography - A Bit of Me - which was published on Thursday (March 17).In her book, the Steph's Packed Lunch star opens up about how the pair coped with their newfound fame as a couple after entering the show, and how Eddie had to adapt to the limelight.Speaking in the book she said: "I imagined I'd do Celebrity Gogglebox with one of my famous friends; someone I had a bit of banter with, a pairing that the viewers might get a kick out of."I was quite surprised when Channel 4 told me they wanted Eddie to be my TV couch potato partner.

They'd seen us do an interview together and thought he was hilarious and that we'd be a great team on the show."The TV presenter went on to claim Eddie was "apprehensive at first" as he hadn't done any TV work, but she advised him he'd be fine if he was just himself in front of the camera as people want authenticity.She added: "It's funny; it took Eddie quite a while for the penny to drop at just how famous he'd become after the show went out."Denise explained her and Eddie never got to see much of the public's reaction to them on the show as they recorded the second series during the first lockdown in 2020.She said Eddie "didn't.
