Former President Barack Obama is traveling to Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin this month to stump for Democratic candidates weeks before the midterm elections. First, on Oct. 28, he heads to Atlanta, where Stacey Abrams is making another gubernatorial run against incumbent rival Gov.

There is a former president, extremely popular with his base, who could galvanize voters in key senate and house races in states he won both times he ran for president. His support transcends all factions of his party, and he has a history of going out on a limb to endorse candidates in key races. While the opposing party cannot stand the guy on the stump, he has shown time and again he can rally large crowds and deliver cutting remarks that are able to break through even the most mundane of political races.

A Texas border mayor called out both parties Monday on "America's Newsroom," arguing Republicans and Democrats are the "root cause" of the border crisis.  "It is a crisis relative to immigration and border security. And unfortunately, we have a tendency to look beyond our borders for the elusive root causes when in reality and unfortunately, the fact remains that politicians on both sides of the aisle are the root cause," said Rio Grande City, Texas Mayor Joel Villarreal.  Villarreal said no mayor or governor should "bear the burden" for what he described as a "broken immigration system."  Villarreal said he is not confident the influx of illegal immigration will end because "neither party has delivered immigration reform in several decades." Ron Johnson, R-Wis., in the polls.  While interviewing Barnes on her Saturday show, "The Cross Connection" host and her guest talked about how "dangerous" and "out-of-touch" Johnson’s policies are, claiming that they’re "not based in facts."  Cross also referred to Johnson as a "Trump acolyte" and fixated on his "anti-abortion" policies, which Barnes has been hammering throughout the campaign.
