Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has issued a rallying call to supporters — echoing teammate Cristiano Ronaldo — urging everyone to pull together and look towards a positive future.
United played their final home game of the season on Monday night, beating Brentford 3-0. Ronaldo netted his 24th goal of the campaign from the penalty spot, either side of goals from Bruno Fernandes and Raphael Varane, the latter on target for the first time in United colours.
Despite cheering those three goals, though, there has been precious little to savour for the Old Trafford match-goers this season.
De Gea and Ronaldo been the clear stand-out players for United this term, with the long-serving Spaniard the big favourite to grab his fifth Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award.
