Ralf Rangnick has confirmed Edinson Cavani will leave Manchester United this month. Cavani joined United on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in October 2020.

The centre-forward made an excellent start to life at Old Trafford and the news of his decision to extend his contract at the club for this season was warmly welcomed.

However, Cavani has struggled for fitness this term and his commitment has been questioned. With Cristiano Ronaldo sidelined, United's attacking options have been depleted and Cavani has been named in United's starting line up to play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.

That start is just Cavani's seventh in the Premier League this season. ALSO READ: Ralf Rangnick explains Hannibal Mejbri selection and Cristiano Ronaldo absence for Manchester United. Cavani's contract at United is set to expire next month and Rangnick has now confirmed his departure.
