David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly donated £1million to Unicef as they kicked off their emergency appeal to provide aid for the people of Ukraine, which was launched on Tuesday.Taking to his Instagram account to announce the new initiative via his 7 Fund for Unicef on International Women’s Day, retired footballing icon David shared a sombre video in which he addressed the camera directly and spoke of feeling ‘helpless’ in the face of the unfolding ‘scenes of such despair’ in the country.Explaining that his role as a long time Global Goodwill Ambassador meant he was confident in the charity’s ability to deploy aid in conflict situations, he added: ‘Victoria and I have made a donation on behalf of our family to kickstart the appeal.
