A father was given just months to live after experiencing an unusual symptom while eating a bacon and sausage sandwich at work.

Des Longstaff, 39, has been diagnosed with advanced stage four oesophageal adenocarcinoma — an aggressive cancer of the food pipe that has spread to his liver.

According to Cancer Research UK, this type of cancer is typically incurable.
