Lidl has sounded the alarm for customers over a potential salmonella scare, urging them to return 100g bags of Sol and Mar Chicharricos barbecue Pork Scratchings.The recall affects all batches, codes, and best before dates.

A Lidl spokesperson issued a stark warning: "Lidl GB is recalling the above-mentioned product due to the potential presence of salmonella which may cause severe gastrointestinal symptoms.

If you have bought the above product, we advise you not to eat it." They further advised, "Customers are asked to return this product to the nearest store where a full refund will be given.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation."
