Crime boss Tommy Adams is scrambling to sell his home to avoid facing another seven years behind bars for failing to repay a £1.2million confiscation order.
Last year, gangland “money man” Adams, 63, a member of the notorious Clerkenwell Crime Syndicate, was ordered to hand over the profits he made from a money-laundering racket.
So far he has coughed up just £277,613.20 with a balance of £965,657.55 plus interest of £86,272.41 still to pay. It can now be reported that at a proceeds of crime hearing last month, Adams agreed to flog a property he owns in London to help settle the outstanding demand and avoid further jail time.
