Countryfile viewers rage ‘shame on the BBC!’ and switch off after ‘disgusting’ pig farming report

COUNTRYFILE viewers were left raging and said they switched off following a "disgusting" pig farming report on the show. As the BBC show made a return to screens it faced a backlash from viewers on Sunday night.

Sunday night's special edition of the BBC programme, saw host Margherita Taylor mark Remembrance Sunday from Mount Edgcumbe Country Park in Cornwall.

Charlotte visited one farmer called Charlie, who tended to his pigs that were kept in a pen indoors. The farmer explained: "We are what you call a nucleus pig farm, so we breed pedigree breeding stock." Some branded the show "disgusting" for showing the crowded pig and chicken farms.
