COUNTDOWN staff have reportedly told of their "relief" that Anne Robinson leaving - branding the star's year on the show "a disaster".
The Mirror says a show insider reacted to the 77-year-old's imminent departure following a feud with co-star Rachel Riley. Anne insisted she wasn't leaving over the rift - but called the maths whizz "noisy".
An insider said: “Everyone is so relieved, to be honest. "It’s all been a bit of a disaster with the fallouts and squabbles, we just want to draw a line under it and move on." The Sun has reached out to Channel 4 for comment.
It comes after Anne and Rachel have clashed over dressing rooms, make-up artists and wardrobe budgets backstage on the Channel 4 quiz show.
