Lisa, who plays Beth Sutherland in the ITV soap, haemorrhaged behind her optic nerve four years ago and the incident left lasting damage to her vision in her right eye.

Lisa, who also has type 2 diabetes, told  The Sun  about the health scare and the permanent affect it has had, and says she still doesn't know exactly what led to the damage. "I haemorrhaged behind my optic nerve four years ago and I'm half-blind in my right eye, they said it was like a stroke but also I got hit in the eye with a bit of rope," the 50-year-old actress.
