The UK's coronavirus death toll has increased by 648 as another 16,170 cases are reported. Yesterday the number of coronavirus deaths in the UK soared by 603 with another 13,430 cases recorded.

Today's figures bring the total number of deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus result to 59,699. The total number of positive cases has on Wednesday reached 1,659,256.

Last Wednesday, November 25, the death toll rose by 696 with cases up by a further 18,213. Today it was confirmed that a further 465 people have died of Covid-19 in UK hospitals.

In England 372 more people died, four more in Northern Ireland, 38 in Scotland and 51 in Wales. The youngest person to lose their life was a 19-year-old in England, who did not have any underlying
