A care home was targeted by organised criminals who intercepted a £10,000 payment for vital protective clothing. The home in Forth Valley was left without personal protective equipment when crooks moved the cash from a bank account.
Police made the link as the Scottish Government warned criminals are exploiting the pandemic to make money. Organised crime groups are being blamed for a number of reports of people knocking doors and offering to disinfect driveways for a fee.Businesses are being emailed by scammers offering a £25,000 grant.
