Coronavirus: Biggest Thursday rise in UK cases since April as 21 more deaths recorded

A further 21 people have died having caught the coronavirus in the UK. The country's death toll now stands at 41,705, according to Department of Health data.

A further 3,395 people tested positive for the bug. Yesterday just shy of 4,000 new coronavirus cases were detected. That was the highest number since April, when the pandemic was coming down from its peak.

According to Department for Health data the most cases on one day came on May 1, when 6,201 people tested positive. Do you have a coronavirus story to share?
