Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has shared the moving yet joyous moment he and castmate Peter Ash celebrated after they were recognised for their latest hard-hitting storyline.

The pair, who play Billy Mayhew and Paul Foreman in the ITV soap, were both in attendance at the RadioTimes.com Soap Awards on Saturday night (July 13) alongside a whole host of their fellow soap stars from Corrie, Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks.

The whos who of Soapland were seen hitting the red carpet before heading into Manchester's historic Midland Hotel for the ceremony, during which saw 'Paul’s Motor Neurone Disease diagnosis' being voted 'Best Storyline' by a panel of soap experts. There currently is no cure for the terrible illness, which came with support from the late rugby star Rob Burrown, with Peter and Daniel, who portrays Paul's husband Billy Mayhew emotionally portraying both the physical and mental impact such a diagnosis has on the person themselves and their loved ones.
