Coronation Street's Jane Hazlegrove has confirmed a 'rave' will be held in Weatherfield in upcoming scenes as a grieving Bernie Winter tries to celebrate her son's life.
Viewers were left hailing the actress for her portrayal of the heartbroken mother as she remained by her son Paul Foreman's side as he died, 17 months after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in April 2023.
Paul, played by Peter Ash, was diagnosed with the life-limiting illness, for which there is currently no cure, in April 2023 and he and his loved ones went on to see his health deteriorate in front of their eyes, starting with losing use of his limbs to the ability to talk. He was rushed to hospital as he struggled to breathe and later, after doctors informed his family there was nothing more they could do but make him comfortable, Paul took his last breath.
