As fans of the ITV soap know, the character is still coming to terms with being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. The former builder only came clean to his family in tear-jerking scenes in May, weeks after receiving the life-limiting diagnosis.
Next week, while waiting for his appointment at the MND clinic, Paul finds himself sitting next to Shelly from the support group he's started going to.
Paul will be seen in the previous episode arriving at the MND support group meeting but when Shelly introduces herself, Paul’s overwhelmed at the sight of her wheelchair and flees.
