Coronation Street star Sydney Martin has admitted to being 'so moved' after an outpouring of love from her co-stars and fans.
The actress joined the ITV soap earlier this year as Betsy Swain. Fans were stunned when the newcomer's character was revealed to be the daughter of DS Lisa Swain, played by Vicky Myers, who announced she had become a regular on the street back in March, much to viewers' delight.
So far, Betsy has caused many problems for her mother while the often stressed-out detective sergeant has struggled to bond with the teenager since the death of her partner and Betsy's other mum, Becky, in the line of duty. And earlier this week, Vicky jumped to her young co-star's defence after it was revealed Sydney has been nominated in the 'Best Soap Newcomer' category at the TV Choice Awards 2025 alongside Corrie co-star Jack Carroll, who plays Bobby Crawford.
