Next week, there will be explosive scenes in the ITV soap as a huge fire will rip through No.8 Coronation Street, which fans know that David bought off his mother, Gail Platt, before she left Weatherfield for a new life in France with her husband Jesse Chadwick back in December.
What his mother didn't know before her exit is that her son is currently in the bad books of notorious gangster Harvey Gaskell.
It's become clear in recent weeks that he is being sought out by Harvey's thugs after taking money which belonged to him, after it was offered to David's sister Sarah Platt by Harvey's brother Damon Hay.
