Coronation Street fans were quick to point out what they seem to think was the biggest error in Amy Barlow parting with her £40,000 inheritance - and couldn't help but think about what Deirdre Barlow would say on the matter.
As viewers of the ITV soap have witnessed, Amy was interested in joining The Institute after some persuasion by Leanne Battersby and her mentor Rowan Cunliffe, with Leanne in particular aware of Amy's struggles over the years.
However, it became clear Rowan was more interested in Amy's cash after he discovered she'd been left a five-figure sum by her late grandmother following her death in 2015. After checking over a business plan for the new resource centre with Tracy Barlow, Ken agreed that Amy could make the investment.
