Coronation Street fans found themselves in shock after a character left the soap this evening. Carla Connor, who is played by Alison King, left the cobbles on Friday after she was pushed to the edge by Stephen Reid’s plan to spike her with drugs to induce a breakdown.
Stephen left himself into Carla’s flat while she was sleeping and put the oven on in an attempt to set it on fire and frame Carla.
Luckily, Roy turned up just in time to turn off the oven - but Carla was convinced she was the one who had left the appliance on. “I’m not a child, I’m worse than a child,” she said. “What if you’d be on a night shift?
If you’d have been asleep and I’d have turned the grill on, I could’ve burned this place down, I could’ve killed you.” Carla told Roy and Peter that she needed help with her mental health and was advised to take a lengthy break from work.
