Lags are building their own retail park stocked with clothes, toiletries and arts and crafts to help them develop skills. Six shops will be staffed by inmates at the prison which houses some of the nation’s most dangerous women.
The aim is to give them experience in the retail sector. Foston Hall jail near Derby, home to Louise Porton who is serving life for murdering her two daughters, also has its own hairdressing salon.
The shopping park is featured in an inspection report by the Independent Monitoring Board.
