Conor McGregor insists his Scottish heritage will help him secure victory in the biggest fight of his career. The UFC star is the most famous Irishman on the planet but he insists it's ancestral roots that will play a key role in defeating Dustin Poirier in their highly anticipated trilogy on Saturday.

McGregor was in conversation with Stephen A Smith when he referenced his connection with Scotland as he talked up his ability to outclass his great rival.

Notorious has lost three of his last six MMA contests and a defeat against Poirier will all put a major dent in his bid to regain his lightweight crown.
