Amanda Abbington has quit Strictly Come Dancing, it was revealed on BBC It Takes Two. Former Strictly star and host Fleur East broke the news on the Strictly spin-off show on Monday night (October 23).
After introducing the programme, she said: "We've received the news that Amanda is not returning to Strictly." She then read out an official statement from a Strictly spokesperson, which read: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.
The show wishes her all the bet for the future." Her absence was addressed at the beginning of Saturday night's show (October 21) as presenter Claudia Winkleman said: “Now as you may have noticed, Amanda and Giovanni are missing from the lineup.
