An east Manchester community has been left 'shocked' and grieving this evening after a 50-year-old woman died in a house fire.
Emergency services were scrambled to Edale Avenue in Moston just after midday on Thursday (July 20) to reports of a house fire in a property.
Fire crews rushed to rescue a casualty through the window of an upstairs bedroom, but later confirmed the 50-year-old woman had died.
Friends and neighbours gathered at the cordon on Edale Avenue this afternoon to grieve for the woman at the centre of the tragedy. "It's a real shock," one neighbour said. "I only saw her this morning.
