New rules that could see click and collect services banned everywhere apart from essential retailers are being considered by the Government.
Proposals discussed by ministers over the weekend mean collection services from restaurants, clothes shops and more could be affected. “The general feedback is that click and collect is not working, people are not wearing masks in queues, people are too close to each other,” an insider told The Telegraph.
But ministers ruled out extending ban to supermarkets, as it could see delivery services overwhelmed. There have also been discussions on making face coverings mandatory outdoors, reports in the Telegraph indicate, meaning only “private dwellings” would be exempt.
