Cineworld is hoping to reopen cinemas in Scotland from May amid lockdown easing. The film theatre chain shut its doors to Scots back in October after a number of big blockbuster released were delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Scotland's recent stay at home lockdown prolonged the temporary closure further as cinema screens have remained off limits during the opening months of 2021.
But the Scottish Government’s timetable out of lockdown has scheduled the potential reopening of cinemas to take place from May 17.
Cineworld has told the Daily Record that it is seeking to reopen all of its branches in Scotland from that date. A spokesperson for the firm said: “Cineworld expects to resume operations in the UK in May, in line with current.
